10th Birthday Celebrations

At the time of writing this blog, it’s a beautiful sunny day... just like June should be!

So it’s been just over a month since I jumped out of a plane! My friends still can’t believe (& nor can I!) that I jumped, but thankfully I have photographic evidence! I would like to say congratulations to all those who took part and thank you to everyone who sponsored us and helped us to raise a fantastic £7899!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to us, happy birthday NRAS, Happy birthday to you!
So this week has been a very busy but exciting week as we have been putting the final touches on our birthday lunch, which is being held tomorrow (Thursday) in Warwickshire. There are still a small number of tickets available so if you haven’t yet, and would like to help us celebrate, please contact Val to buy your tickets. Fingers crossed the weather will be as lovely as it is today!

On Friday, I attended a charity launch held by the Mayor & Mayoress of Windsor & Maidenhead at Guildhall. The Mayor Asghar Majeed & his consort have launched a new charity initiative, which is aimed at restaurants interlinking with shortlisted charities and we are delighted to be on the list. The idea is to have customers at the particular restaurant donate to the nominated charity and we would like to thank the Mayor & Mayoress for giving us the opportunity. The launch was a success and we look forward to seeing which restaurants will support NRAS.

Finally we have a team of cyclists called the ‘The Bonking Bikers’ taking part in the Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle ride this week, and we would like to wish them every success on their ride. If you would like to take up a challenge, we have a range of exciting challenges available; please contact Val, our Events Fundraiser for more details. Whatever you decide to do, NRAS is grateful for your support.

Time for me to go, but I hope I will be seeing lots of you at our birthday lunch on Thursday, however, if you are not able to attend, why not help us celebrate by holding your own NRAS birthday party?

Thank you for all your support over the last 10 years.

Best wishes
