Hi from the NRAS office in Maidenhead

Hi, My name is Gail,

I joined the NRAS team in 2005. The charity has grown immensely since I joined. The staff has doubled since then and we have achieved so much in such a short time.

I share my time at NRAS between membership and helpline.

The Membership has grown hugely and we have an amazing group of volunteers who will give telephone support to our helpline callers.
When someone calls the helpline they get to speak to one of our 4 helpline staff who have a wide range of knowledge of RA, the symptoms and treatments and are there for you if you just need a listening ear.
If you would like to speak to someone who understands, that has been through the difficult times of diagnosis and starting treatment, that is on the same drug or has been through a similar experience, just call the helpline on 0800 298 7650 and ask to be put in touch with a volunteer and we will do our best to match you up with a volunteer and arrange a phone call.

Our membership has grown steadily, our members enjoy the magazines that we send 3 times a year, if you would like to see one of our magazines and live in the UK please email membership@nras.org.uk with your name and address or call us on 0845 458 3969 We have competitions, the use of our members forum, a wonderful source of support and friendship from people in “the same boat”. The chance to participate in surveys which we can then use the results to campaign for better treatment and understanding for people with RA.

If you would like to become a member please call 0845 458 3969 and ask for the membership team. Our prices are yearly. £25 if you pay by standing order, cash, credit/debit card or cheque. If you pay by direct debit it is £20 per year. You can download a membership form from our website or call us on 0845 458 3969 and join over the phone. We look forward to hearing from you.

We are looking forward to the 10th birthday party in Warwick on June 30th. If you would like to join us, we would love to see you there. The tickets are still available at £20 each, please call Val on 01628 501 547

Best wishes

Gail
